It's true. My Italian grandmother would turn over in her grave if she saw the no meat, "light" and "fluffy" versions of her wonderful recipes.
ReplyDeleteI love your...
"MESSED WITH THE RECIPE MEATBALLS"
and "TINKERED WITH TURKEY BALLS.."
Her's to keeping the old recipes and just not eating as much.
yeah....I'll drink to that Farmlady...
Deletesome things you just have to draw a line in the sand
called not even close to swedish meatballs...haha...seriously why muck with what is good...um i dont know if i can buy into the not eating so much though...smiles.
ReplyDeleteyeah why muck with it?
DeleteIt is very, very hard for me to follow the rules. I'm always altering things and taking out and putting in....it's the artist in me I guess.
ReplyDeleteHad an art teacher though, who said - "Liv, you gotta' understand the rules to break the rules." Good advice. But I do love it when something is "authentic" and following the recipe allows you to get it right each and every time. Like with meatballs...and chocolate cake !
Lutherans with balls...fuuuuuunny 1
hee hee
DeleteYou can futz with the recipe..just don't send it into a magazine and call it swedish meatballs..'cause it ain't....that's all
I mess up recipes all the time and art too
Once in pen and ink...I added and added and added until the tree looked like a monster...and white out didn't help!
I don't know a Swedish meatball from a basketball, but the latter is too tough to eat, and the former just better be good whatever you call it! As for your pen and ink, you have me laughing out loud!
Deletethat is a true story and I have the picture to prove it....I may find it and show and tell
