Blaze...Magpie tale #96

how deeply she sought
so deeply that she got lost
in diamonds,tycoons
a baseball hero,
and other women's husbands
burning her life's light
in sex and drugs
until crash and burn
leaving a debris field
as large as life
her legacy a gouge in American life
 36 years long
and she never even liked the name
Marilyn

  1. nice capture of all that is and was marilyn...like tht you describe it as a gash and there are those that continue to strive for its shadow....

  2. Quite a statement for appreciating what you have, for realizing the richness of our own relative simplicity.

  4. She came and went, and wasn't happy. Now, though immortalized, we feel sorry for her.
