My body rejoices in the sun's warm rays
I feel healing from winter going on inside of me
I feel healing from winter going on inside of me
I love to labor in the garden
especially now when my heart is heavy from loss
The sight of the birds flitting over me as I weed
especially the quarrelsome Goldfinches
cheers me to my aching knees
Gardening is getting harder due to being long in the tooth
hee hee
I hope heaven is a garden
I can imagine it so
..for this is comforting
glorious flowers,trees, animals and birds
all there for joy
and my loved ones
yes, I think of seeing them again as I bend
hands in dirt, pulling out prickly thistle
aware of the clock ticking away
the days flying off of the calendar
the hours twirling past
the minutes tickling me
and seconds
Oh those seconds
when everything can change
Yes..let me enjoy the rays of the sun
let them warm my body today
and bring me joy
Wonderful to hear the enJOYment in your voice. Gardening!
ReplyDeleteRejoice, wonderful. I rejoice with you!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Ready for sun and being outdoors. Gardening is so therapeutic.
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor growing up was a psychiatrist, and she always said if everyone just gardened an hour or two a day she would be put out of business :)
here's so sunshine and getting your hands dirty :)
Oh yes, warmth and gardens go well together, and time in this labor stretches our muscles and feeds our soul so.
ReplyDeleteI hear joy and serenity all around you today.
Amen to that, Suz!
ReplyDeletenice...glad you are enjoying the moment...love getting my hands dirty among the new life, and the sun which i see today for the first time in 4 days...
ReplyDeleteNothing like some time in the garden, we are lucky enough to not get snow in the Winter so gardening is on going all year round. It is what I call my "non-thinking" time when I can shut everything out.
ReplyDeleteNice to hear that you are having some warm weather.
Suz--I think that you and I are kindred spirits. We have so many things in common, including our age and our love of gardening. I can think of a huge, long list of things just off the top of my head. But then, that's why we are blogging friends...we think alike.

ReplyDeleteand thank you for stopping for a visit and for leaving a comment
DIva,huh? I like that
I know all about the clock ticking.
ReplyDeleteMy knees complain, my back complains, I get sore and tired, yet the garden calls. Gardens are slave drivers.
They know that you can't ignore them, let them turn into a wilderness of weeds and bramble thickets, so they crack the whip mercilessly.
Happy gardening!
You perfectly describe what I feel most of the time. A real awareness of the hourglass of time. And may the warmth of summer and all that grows in the earth and flies in the air, lift the burden of sorrow that hangs heavy in your heart.
ReplyDeleteAh.. but Friko it is a good whip cracking....we love our gardens
ReplyDeleteand it is honest aches and pains
Annell...let it all go....I say...I have today this moment and I shall enjoy it...work hard and rejoice in it...Thank you..you have lifted it by caring.....you are a good sweet woman and I appreciate you as a blogger friend.
ReplyDeleteHi Suz,
ReplyDeleteI thought of you this morning, thank you for always encouraging me. Sometimes I honestly just want to lie down in my garden and let the rain fall on me...but then I worry about what the neighbors would think....LOL!
