Micro fiction Monday #35

Susan,at http://www.stonyriver.ie/ hosts a weekly writing prompt

Using the below picture write something
using 140 characters
This week's prompt was difficult for me, one because I'm so tired,
but two, because there is so much going on in that picture,
and to write only 140 characters was a challenge.
Can't wait to read the others

She watched as Zoe slipped away
to the dark continent of lonliness,
ignoring the toy sent by her father
from his trip to Africa.

  7. Depression is indeed a dark place! What a sad, but great take on the pic for the day. Amazing how many different stories the same pic inspires! Have a great week!

  8. I can just see the mother gazing sadly upon her little girl...there is always a hole when dad is gone, isn't there? When my husband was in Baghdad, my kids needed constant reassurance that I wasn't going anywhere. It was exhausting - kind of like you nuturing Mr. Darcy!
