Quiet morning ....sad news last night...my mom's dear partner has crossed over the river Jordan...and we are glad his suffering is over. When I am in a thoughtful mood, I usually reach for poetry to find just that right feeling that is hiding just below my restlessness. Why poetry releases this in me..I don't know, but it does. Sometimes I find a poem that isn't related to what is going on inside of me..yet I put the book down satisfied...having been touched by a poet.
From the chapbook book:
Poems and doodles
by Mark Weber
I am a stiff,
rigid,unbending,inflexible,
resistant, up-
tight son of a bitch
this self-awareness
occurred to me while
at
my second yoga class
This started my day off with a chuckle
hope it does for you too.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteI did laugh - the few times I've tried yoga I've had the exact same thought (although I leave off the "son of a" part).
Very sorry for your loss - and yep, great poem (ha)
ReplyDeleteSounds familiar.
ReplyDeleteAnd seriously, the Grim Reaper needs to move on, no more dark clouds!
Big hugs, Suz. A very sad time for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteI've never been a big reader of poetry, but there is something about it that can soothe our troubled souls at times like these.
Am grinning at your poem choice, but very sad to hear your news. I will be thinking of you Mom and all who loved them both.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear your sad news, but smiling at this poem!
ReplyDeleteSmiles.. that's what it's all about
ReplyDeleteSo sorry but glad the pain is over. I love the poem.
ReplyDeleteSadness and laughter, a wonderfully reviving combination. Bless your hearts, you and your Mom...loss is always hard, but there is bittersweetness, knowing his pain is over.
ReplyDeleteBlessYourHearts
Oh Suz, I'm so sorry for you and your Mum. Glad you could share a chuckle even through your sadness.
ReplyDelete(((((hugs)))))

Humor...a saving grace. Tough times call for comfort and grace...my best to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteI am so very sorry for your loss, Suz, but at times like these, I think laughter is a tonic, a healer.
