I found this painting in Galena. My husband hates it.
Never the twain shall meet
Dark night sky
Bellybanders coming home
lights on in the window saying comfort...someone is there
a red barn in snow
all it needs is a grandfather with a lantern

Well Suz, I like the painting, there is something rather comforting about it. I laughed when I read your comments on my last post. Now you´ve made me think about what I need to do to get back in shape. Why did you bring this up at this time of year?:)
ReplyDeleteSuz, I think that is a great picture. Maybe because I was raised on a farm. I am pretty well back on line but was locked out of everything including, google. HP had to wipe out everything 2 days in a row. I am back now.I missed all of you.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this painting!! Why in the world does your husband hate it??
ReplyDeleteI love this painting too - but I'd better not show it to Dr M. - he would be tracking you down & sneaking it out of your house. He loves red barns, cows, and paintings with those subjects in them.
ReplyDeleteI too love the painting!!
ReplyDeleteI knew all my blogger friends would agree with me....
ReplyDeleteand Dr. M just went up a few notches in the great guy book
Lucy you should tell us about your days growing up on the farm
Happy birthday, fellow Sagittarius. I did not see either of my grandfather's, they had expired when my Mum and Dad were little kids. I was fortunate to have two grannies around me and lots oflove. Yep, grandparents are special.
ReplyDeleteLubna...welcome and thank you for the birthday wish of happiness
ReplyDeletegrandmothers are a topic all their own now aren't they
Happy Birthday, dear blogger friend! You look so young and yet so wise...I meant to tell you how much I love your new profile photo.
ReplyDeleteAnd the painting? Art is a personal thing....and personally I love it--especially the comforting lights in the windows that always mean "home."
Enjoy your day!!
What not to like? Delightful, image and words!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE the picture! :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday dear friend, I hope you are having a wonderful day! May your next trip around the Sun be a wonderous one!
Many happy returns and lots of love to you!

This woman loves it!
ReplyDeleteWe used to have a herd of Belted Galloways-- the calves were adorable! So naturally I like your painting!
ReplyDeleteI love the word "bellybanders." Did you coin it, or is it what those cows are called and I've never heard it? Excellent!
ReplyDeletePLEASE, tell me you bought it!
ReplyDeleteI did
ReplyDeleteQue linda pintura. Fiquei apaixonada.
