Oh Christmas Eve

Growing up, Christmas Eve Service was Christmas
The Nativity pageant
Most times I was in the heavenly chorus
with tinsel for a halo and wearing a white robe my mother had made
But one year,eighth grade
I got to play two parts,
First, Eve and the promise of the savior
then Mary and the promise fulfilled
I loved every minute of it and always did
Christmas in church
then afterwards the women's group gave us oranges and Brach's chocolate stars
Then off to home... where while we were gone Santa had come
and left presents under our tree
I always wondered how he knew
Now I know

From my tree to yours
Merry Christmas

I went to church last night (Christmas Eve) and the children acted out the nativity story ...and Jesus was a real baby (very new) who had the cutest of feet.
It filled me with peace and wonder.

  2. Sweet Christmas memories.

I was fortunate to be able to attend a fabulous performance of the San Francisco Girls Chorus (ages 7-18)performance this week. It was so wonderful. I had tears in my eyes! I thought of all my lovely friends and wish they could have been there with me and that includes you! Forrest was part of the program which made it ever more special!

    Sweet hugs to you, Cory

  4. Must be the Lutheran schools, my husband spoke about getting oranges at Church on Christmas. I went to our 5:00 pm candlelight service(can't stay up for the 11:00. We sang Silent Night in the candlelit church, very moving. My daughter is coming tomorrow morning to go to the 10:00 am service and I'll go along too,

  5. Wonderful memories Suz, I used to love our nativity services too. One year at School I got a part in the nativity play, believe it or not I was the star! Don´t misunderstand, I got to walk in front carrying the star...........One can only dream:)

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

May you and your family enjoy laughter, love and peace. May you feel all the love that we feel for you. May you truly know you are blessed. Sending you much love! ~ Relyn
