Magpie tales # 98 Raging River

In the aftermath
I remember the destruction of your love
your torrent of  words
your irreparable erosion of  banks
your toppling of timbers
 into splinters of kindling
of despair

I could be tempted to be fooled
by the stillness of the reflection
you seek to whisper to me now
ignore the debris you left behind
travel the river of your love again
but I won't
for still waters
run deep, they say
and I ain't no fool

  7. Your description of destruction is keen and on the emotional mark. You do a great job using the imagery in the photo to infer the inner truths disclosed.

  14. I like how you take a serene image and "read" between the lines, and how that serenity becomes something almost sinister... And your ending is the perfect punch!
