They are flocking in my yard getting ready to leave scarfing up every berry they can find and I touch the window glass lean close till my words form steam God speed my dear friends I will miss your songs
When I see the first Robin in spring, I feel like spring is alive and getting near. They are a hardy little bird and have lived through many springs where snow came in spring and then when it warmed up you knew they survived when mama Robin and papa robin are looking for forward to bringing more baby robins for us to watch.

Oh Lucy...it is expectation and competition with my husband and me...who can spot the first robin and the first heron....of spring Something to look forward... sort of ying and yang of life I guess Goldenbird...I LOVE robins and their many songs and their quirky hopping alnog the lawn with their heads tilted toward the ground..and their delight after a rain! oh and the way they really bathe in the birdbath
Right after I read your post today I went to the kitchen and saw a robin outside the kitchen window who was so big that at first glance I thought he was a red squirrel ; ) Apparently there are plenty of berries around here!
We are very fortunate to live in the flight path of migrating birds. Therefore the birds we see change with the seasons. I will also miss the robins, the redwing blackbirds too. They will be replaced with juncos and chickadees, I love thier happy songs:)
